What the pieces are made of and how to look after them
All nine pieces are the same material, finished the same way. Only the shape and the colour change.
The material
- Cast mineral composite: fine mineral powder bound with a water-based acrylic resin.
- Pigment is mixed in before casting, so the colour runs through the whole piece. A chip shows the same colour, not white.
- Each piece is a single casting. There is no separate base glued on.
- Sanded by hand, then sealed with a matt water-based sealer.
- Three felt pads on the underside.
- Indoor use only.

All sizes and weights are approximate. Every piece is sanded by hand, so allow a few millimetres either way.
Everyday care
- Dust with a dry, soft brush or cloth. A soft paintbrush reaches into steps, arches and window openings better than a cloth.
- For a mark, use a cloth that is barely damp, then let the piece dry fully before you move it.
- Do not use sprays, solvents, bleach or abrasive pads. They cut through the sealer and leave a patch.
- Lift a piece with one hand flat underneath, never by a column, a beam or a single leg.
Where to put them
Indoors, in dry rooms, on a level surface. Keep them away from sinks, baths, showers and anywhere that stays damp, and do not use them as plant pots or stand them in water. On glass or polished wood, check the felt pads are still in place before you set a piece down.
If a piece chips
Because the colour runs through the material, a small chip shows the same colour and is often easy to live with. To soften the edge of a chip, rub it very gently with fine sandpaper (400 grit or finer), then dust it off. If a piece arrives chipped, do not repair it: email us photographs within 7 days of delivery and we will replace or refund it.
Sunlight
The pigments are mineral and hold their colour well, but no coloured surface is immune to years of direct sun. A piece on a south-facing windowsill may lighten over time on the side that faces the glass.
