Moon Gate

A thick wall with one round hole through it, standing on two shallow steps. Round gateways like this turn up in old garden walls; ours has no garden behind it, so whatever you put on the other side becomes the view.

Chalk white shows dust and fingermarks more than the darker colours. A dry brush takes care of it, but if the piece will sit somewhere it gets handled a lot, sage or sand forgive more.

Care. Dust with a dry soft brush or cloth. For a mark, use a barely damp cloth and let it dry fully before moving the piece. Keep it indoors and off anything that gets wet, and lift it by the body, not by a thin part. Full notes, including what to do about a chip, are on Care & Materials.
